Job summary

CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team is a leading Canadian engineering consultancy focused on the energy transition. This Transmission Lines Engineer role leverages your professional credentials to drive innovation and deliver safe, efficient designs for 60kV–500kV systems.

The position is hybrid (2 days per week in the office) and based anywhere in Canada, offering opportunities to work on large infrastructure projects with a collaborative team and strong focus on safety and sustainability.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Transmission projects.
• Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in ON or another province of Canada.
• Proficient in design/analysis software and CAD systems, with familiarity of drawing standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication abilities in English – written and verbal.
• Experience in design tasks including scope, schedule and cost control.
• Integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions through design and analysis for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist project/operations management in meeting safety, cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Resolve technical design and field engineering problems through independent studies and analysis.
• Contribute to engineering practices by developing standards and providing guidance to other engineers.
• Deliver engineering scope with clients, establish criteria, approve documents, and report progress.
