Job summary

CIMA+’s Transmission Lines Engineer role is a hybrid position based anywhere in Canada, with two days a week in the office. The candidate will design overhead line structures for voltages from 60kV to 500kV and provide signed, sealed engineering deliverables as required.

You’ll develop design work packages, manage scope and cost, and collaborate with teams to support major infrastructure projects across Canada. A professional engineering license and CAD proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Registered with a Professional Engineering association in ON or another Canadian province.
• Proficient in design/analysis software and CAD systems; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Support safety, cost, quality, and schedule targets with plan changes.
• Resolve technical design and field engineering problems with independent studies.
• Contribute to engineering practices by developing standards and guidance.
• Deliver engineering scope with clients, establish design criteria, and report progress.
• Design overhead line structures for 60kV to 500kV in electrical utilities.
