Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Transmission Lines Designer to advance Canada’s energy infrastructure. You’ll apply your civil/structural/mechanical background to design overhead line structures for 5kV–500kV, produce documentation, and support projects from feasibility through to delivery.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on transmission projects.
• Proficient with PLSCADD and CAD systems.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent English communication; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist management in safety, cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Resolve technical design and field problems through analysis.
• Contribute to engineering practices by studies, standards and designs.
• Deliver engineering deliverables and client reporting.
• Design overhead line structures for 5kV–500kV.
• Prepare project documentation per practices.
• Develop design work packages with scope, duration and effort.
• Provide signed/sealed deliverables as Professional of Record.
• Offer technical support and field reviews.
• Perform structural design/analysis for Distribution/Transmission structures.
• Apply loads and seismic analysis per standards including foundations, lightning protection, conductors, and hardware.
