Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Vancouver is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to support our growing local office. You will design plans for various materials, conduct structural studies, and supervise construction activities, ensuring NBCC/BC Building Code compliance.

The role requires a P.Eng with EGBC or ability to obtain within 6 months, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong software skills in ETABS, SAP2000 and SAFE. A hybrid work culture and client-facing responsibilities are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• P.Eng with EGBC or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong experience with structural design software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE).
• Ability to mentor entry-level engineers and collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare plans and specifications for steel, concrete, wood and masonry structures.
• Conduct studies, surveys, technical reports and structural inspections.
• Supervise structural work during construction.
• Ensure engineering work complies with NBCC/BC Building Code and quality standards.
• Coordinate projects with mechanical, electrical, architecture, and process teams; maintain client relations.
