Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Vancouver is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, delivering electrical system design, calculations, and construction documents for multi-disciplinary building projects, from preliminary design through the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate holds an Electrical Engineering degree and P.Eng with EGBC, has 4–10 years of consulting experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree and P.Eng with EGBC.
• 4–10 years of electrical engineering consulting experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit; PLC programming is an asset.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the electrical system design, calculations, and systems in multi-disciplinary projects from preliminary design throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents for electrical systems including LV/mV distribution, lighting, power, grounding, fire alarm, communications, security, and control systems.
• Review client requirements, provide design options and recommendations.
• Assist with deliverables to meet financial targets and schedule.
• Perform peer reviews for quality control and QA, and complete design calculations.
• Coordinate with utilities and municipalities for incoming services.
• Independently review shop drawings and work with contractors to resolve issues on-site.
• Provide technical directions to junior designers and CAD operators.
