Job summary

AECOM's Buildings + Places team in Burnaby is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and delivery for complex projects across Western Canada while growing our BC structural practice. This newly created role blends technical leadership with client engagement and mentoring in a collaborative team.

The position requires a Structural Engineering background with P.Eng., 6+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of Canadian codes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and six years of relevant experience.
P.Eng. in good standing with Engineers Canada.
Experience leading multidisciplinary building and infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of Canadian structural codes and standards.
Valid Class 5 driver's licence.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design and delivery for complex building and infrastructure projects.
Perform structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Provide technical leadership, quality reviews, and mentorship to engineers, EITs, and technologists.
Support proposals, fee estimates, client relationships, and business development activities.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction.
Conduct site reviews, assessments, and construction support services.
Support the growth and development of AECOM's Structural practice in British Columbia.
