Job summary

Sowa Tool & Machine Co. Ltd. is seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations, administer policies, coordinate benefits, and assist with payroll and onboarding. You will maintain records and respond to HR inquiries while promoting an inclusive, productive workplace.

The role collaborates with leadership to improve staffing, training, and employee experiences across Canada, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and timely HR service delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in an HR role.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in HR.
• Familiarity with Dayforce is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist full cycle recruitment: postings, screening resumes, interviews.
• Manage onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Maintain employee records and ensure labour-law compliance.
• Support payroll processing and update employee profiles.
• Act as primary contact for employee questions and concerns.
• Coordinate training and development programs.
• Contribute to an inclusive and engaging company culture.
• Assist coordination of company events and town halls.
• Maintain HR reports and data.
• Support leadership with programs to improve the employee experience.
