Housekeeping Supervisor

The role is a permanent, full‑time position at Collingwood, Ontario, with Monday‑to‑Friday days. Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada and currently reside in Ontario. They must be able to work during a pandemic and adhere to all Covid precaution and immunisation policies, and must obtain a Vulnerable Sector police check and two‑step TB test prior to start.

Superior Facility Services is a family‑owned business that has provided environmental services to long‑term care and retirement homes for over 30 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the housekeeping department within the facility, ensuring delivery of quality service for residents and staff.
• Organise and oversee housekeeping and laundry duties as part of the daily routine.
• Participate in selection, evaluation, promotion and termination of environmental employees.
• Formulate and maintain department policies, procedures, goals, objectives and performance appraisals.
• Participate in the orientation process for residents, staff, volunteers and students.
• Serve on local and provincial committees for the facility.
• Maintain records in accordance with policies, procedures and government regulations.
• Perform basic hands‑on housekeeping and light maintenance duties associated with the facility’s operation.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional housekeeping experience.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
• Hands‑on housekeeping and/or laundry experience.
• Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS.
• Adaptable, flexible, patient and tactful.
• Strong multi‑tasking, prioritisation and organisational skills.
• Genuine interest in the care of the elderly.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector criminal record check and TB test.
• Ability to complete housekeeping and laundry tasks that involve pushing, pulling, lifting and standing for long periods.
• Effective written and verbal English skills.
