Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Hot Seat Coordinator at the Detour Lake Mine in Ontario. Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, you will lead a skilled team in safe, efficient ore extraction and waste movement, aligning with the mine plan and promoting safety, environment, and operational excellence.

You will coordinate resources, communicate changes, and drive continuous improvement while upholding Agnico Eagle’s values and zero-harm safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with extensive open pit experience or degree in mining with operations experience.
• Minimum three years supervisory experience in an open pit mining operation.
• Proven commitment to safety and environmental best practices.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of skilled mine operators to safely extract ore and move waste rock.
• Assist in optimizing production according to the mine plan and coordinate resources.
• Coordinate material movement to meet the mine plan and report changes.
• Communicate production information to supervisors and maintenance to minimize delays.
• Foster a climate of trust and participation with cross-cultural teams.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor and/or Mine Dispatchers you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for assisting in leading a team of skilled and dedicated mine operators in the safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction of ore and movement of waste rock. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Ensure the safety of the team by applying a zero-harm approach to all tasks performed
• Assist the Mine Supervisor and Dispatcher to optimize production in accordance with the mine plan, organize, lead and control resources to minimize delays and standby time on the haulage and loading fleet
• Coordinate the movement of material to meet the mine plan
• Communicate the production information and changes to the Mine Supervisor, Technical Services, Mine Maintenance and the Process Plant to minimize production delays
• Communicate with the mine operators to ensure that equipment delays are accurately recorded Promote a climate of trust and participation

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with extensive open pit experience or degree in mining or related field with operations experience
• Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in an open pit mining operation Experience operating a fleet management system (dispatching)
• Proven commitment to safety, health and environmental best practices
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong business acumen and competent computer literacy skills Valid Ontario driver’s license
• Experience working and leading cross cultural teams is considered an asset
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine Site;

Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
