Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking an Operator V at the Detour Lake Mine in Ontario. You will operate mineral processing lines, control leaching and gold recovery, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met.

Schedule is 7/7 or 14/14 with on-site accommodations provided. Prior experience in gold processing and a mechanical mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience operating a mineral processing plant, preferably gold.
• Experience with crushing, conveying, grinding, leaching, and recovery is desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate processes and equipment following safe operating procedures.
• Monitor data and optimize plant performance.
• Conduct lockout/tagout to a zero-energy state when required.
• Perform inspections, housekeeping, and equipment maintenance.
• Monitor reagents dosage and manage inventory.
• Collaborate with other departments for effective decisions.
• Promote health, safety and environmental culture.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

• Operate all processes and related equipment in adherence to safe operating procedures;
• Monitor and analyze process data and take actions to optimize plant performance;
• Perform Lockout/Tag out of process equipment to a Zero Energy state;
• Complete operational inspections and housekeeping tasks in designated sections of the plant;
• Monitor reagents dosage and inventory;
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of mill equipment; (Troubleshooting operational upsets and minor technical issues);
• Ensure that all safety issues are reported to the Supervisor and promptly remedied;
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective decision making;
• Promote positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
• Minimum three years’ experience operating in a mineral process treatment plant, preferably in a gold plant;
• Experience in crushing, conveying, grinding, leaching and gold recovery is a strong asset;
• Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices;
• Display good problem-solving skills with a mechanical aptitude to handle minor projects.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine Site;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
