Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited at Detour Lake Mine in Ontario is seeking a qualified HVAC Technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment to meet safety and efficiency standards.

You will work 7/7 or 14/14 on-site with accommodations and meals provided, and transport arranged. A Refrigeration license and experience in industrial settings are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Industrial/commercial/mining maintenance experience.
  • Licensed refrigeration technician status required or in process.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on HVAC units.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment per standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping in all work areas.
  • Update ozone depletion records per company policy.
  • Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Support safety initiatives and ensure safe operation of units.
  • Report safety issues promptly to supervisor.
  • Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, you will be part of the Site Services and Infrastructure Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all applicable HVAC units;

Installation, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment according to company standards and manufacturer specifications;

Maintain proper housekeeping in all work areas;

Ensure all ozone depletion records and maintained and updated in accordance with company standards;

Actively participating in developing and building preventative maintenance schedules and objectives;

Support all departmental initiatives with and maintaining the safe operation of all applicable units;

Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied;

Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

313A Refrigeration License certification or equivalent is required;

G1 Gas Technician certification or equivalent is preferred;

Minimum of 5 years related experience in an industrial/commercial/mining work setting;

Experience with computerized HVAC systems and troubleshooting considered an asset;

Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;

Exceptional ability to work within a diverse team.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 at our Detour Lake Mine Site;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
