Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Detour Lake Mine. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment and support safety and environmental standards.

This 14/14 schedule includes on-site accommodations and meals, with company-provided transportation to the mine site. Candidates should have a minimum high school diploma, 5 years of related experience, and experience with CAT equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certificate is considered an asset.
• Minimum five years’ related experience in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with ultra-class mining equipment: 6030, 6060, 7495 CAT shovels, 795 and 798 trucks, Epiroc D65/DM-45, Pit Viper drills.
• Computer literate with CAT ET & SIS Web.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment.
• Use testing equipment to determine extent of required repairs.
• Repair hydraulic, powertrain and electrical systems.
• Use hydraulic power units, torque wrenches and hoists.
• Identify and report part requirements and supplies as needed.
• Prepare electronic service reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work area.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of the Mobile Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for the proper maintenance and repair, as well as performing preventative maintenance and operational safety inspections on all heavy equipment. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Performing regular servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on all applicable mobile equipment;
• Use of computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of required repairs;
• Repairing hydraulic, powertrain and electrical systems;
• Use of various tools including hydraulic power units, torque wrenches and hoists;
• Identifying and reporting part requirements and supplies as required;
• Preparing electronic service reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner;
• Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient work area.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
• Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certificate is considered an asset;
• Minimum five years’ related experience in a fast-paced production environment;
• Experience with ultra-class mining equipment: notably 6030, 6060, 7495 Caterpillar shovels, 795 and 798 trucks as well as Epiroc D65, DM-45 and Pit Viper drills;
• Computer literate and proven knowledge of CAT ET & SIS Web;
• Focused and self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:

• Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
