CFMWS – WHERE PURPOSE MEETS PASSION! Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) seeks a Mess Supervisor (Hospitality Supervisor) in Kingston to deliver outstanding customer experiences in military messes, lead events, supervise bar service and mess operations.

English required; bilingual an asset. Role includes supervising staff, scheduling payroll-ready shifts, maintaining health and safety standards, and assisting with setup and takedown of functions in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma AND several years of experience in the food and beverage service, or a related hospitality field.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (ON).
• Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (ON).
• Valid Driver’s Licence (ON), an asset.
• Experience in hospitality and bar operations.
• Experience in budget administration.
• Experience in cash handling.
• Experience in event planning and organizing.
• Experience in inventory control.
• Experience in personnel administration.
• Competencies include client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on planning, organizing, supervising mess activities, bar service and mess operations.
• Supervise and train employees, prepare work schedules and payroll.

THE ROLE

As a Mess Supervisor (Hospitality Supervisor), you provide an excellent customer experience in our military messes. During big events to every day moments, you will build a rapport with the military community while utilizing your operational and hospitality experience. Military messes are places where Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members come together to socialize and foster morale.

The Mess Supervisor (Hospitality Supervisor) provides hands‑on assistance in planning, organizing, supervising mess activities, bar service and mess operations. You will supervise and train employees, prepare work schedules and ensure their accuracy for payroll. You will ensure strict requirements for health, hygiene and safety. You will interact directly with clientele, taking orders and assisting with set up and take down of functions.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

• High school diploma AND several years of experience in the food and beverage service, or a related hospitality field

• This is an on‑site position with an assigned work location.
• This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
