Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is seeking a Home and Electronics Sales Associate to support CAF members and their families. You will help set up electronics, computers, appliances and furniture departments and provide professional product advice.

You will also operate POS systems, assist with stock, explain extended warranties, and deliver friendly service in a on-site retail setting that values teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Education, certifications and licenses required or acceptable equivalent
  • Experience in electronics, computers equipment, furniture and appliances
  • Experience selling extended warranty and accessories
  • Experience in cash handling
  • Experience in sales and merchandising
  • Competencies: client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

Responsibilities

  • Provide retail services to CAF members and assist them with product recommendations
  • Set up electronics, computers, appliances and furniture departments and ensure shelves are stocked, signed and labeled
  • Explain and sell extended warranty programs and accessories
  • Operate POS systems and debit/credit machines and maintain cash float
  • Work as part of a team to deliver outstanding customer service in a military environment

THE ROLE

As a Home and Electronics Sales Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You assist in the set-up of the electronics, computers, appliances, and furniture departments and provide technical and professional advice on sales and products offered. You assist with ordering stock and ensure that shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed. You explain and sell extended warranty programs and accessories.

The Home and Electronics Sales Associate may also provide a variety of other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience

Food Handling Certification, as required

Experience

In electronics, computers equipment, furniture and appliances

In selling extended warranty and accessories

In cash handling

In sales and merchandising

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
