Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) seeks a Sales Associate to deliver retail services to CAF members and their families. You will operate POS systems, assist with credit plans, and help customers with merchandising while maintaining store presentation.

The role involves cash handling, potential food service tasks, and working as part of a team to provide an exceptional customer experience in a military community setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cash handling and retail service.
  • Food handling and alcohol service certifications required.
  • English essential; bilingual (English and French) an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Point of Sale systems and maintain a cash float.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and assist with merchandise and services.
  • Keep shelves stocked, faced, and properly signed; ensure cleanliness of food service areas.

THE ROLE

As a Sales Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You may provide a variety of services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, postal services, and assisting CAF members with credit plan applications. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine and maintain a float.

The Sales Associate responds to enquiries from customers providing them with information on merchandising and ensuring the store shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • Food Handling Certification, as required
  • Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Ontario), as required
Experience
  • In cash handling
  • In food and beverage preparation, as required
  • In food and beverage service, as required

Language Requirements
  • English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
