Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is hiring a Facilities and Stores Assistant to manage program scheduling, memberships and revenue reconciliation within on-site recreational facilities. You will inspect equipment, maintain inventory and perform basic maintenance to ensure safety and service quality for military communities.

The role emphasizes customer service, compliance with safety standards, and collaboration with the Personnel Support Programs team to support the wellbeing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma AND some experience in a supply or warehouse environment, OR an acceptable mix of education, training and experience.
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
  • A valid driver’s licence (NL)

Responsibilities

  • Schedules the use of programs and services within recreational facilities.
  • Issues and monitors memberships, passes and reconciles fees collected.
  • Inspects equipment and facilities for safety and takes corrective action.
  • Procures and controls consumable inventory and performs minor maintenance on equipment.

THE ROLE

The Facilities and Stores Assistant schedules the use of programs and services within the recreational facilities. They issue and monitor memberships, passes and reconciles fees collected. They routinely inspect equipment and facilities for safety and take corrective action, as required. They procure and control consumable inventory and perform minor maintenance on equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • High school diploma AND some experience in a supply or warehouse environment
  • OR
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
  • AND
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
  • A valid driver’s licence (NL)
Experience
  • In maintenance and repair of sports and fitness equipment
  • In cash handling
  • In maintaining grounds, buildings and facilities
  • In servicing motorized equipment

OTHER INFORMATION

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).

Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs.

Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
