EllisDon invites a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator to join PME Inc. in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. This full-time role focuses on site safety orientation, inspections, and incident reporting to support a zero-harm culture.

You will monitor workers and subcontractors, identify hazards, run training (WHMIS, Fall Protection, PPE, CPR/First Aid), review subcontractor safety docs, and compile safety metrics. The position emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ safety construction experience.
  • Experience supervising safety on active construction sites.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site safety orientation for workers and subs, conduct inspections, and manage incident reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution.
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent incidents.
  • Organize safety training (WHMIS, Fall Protection, PPE, CPR/First Aid) for site staff.
  • Create and maintain a safety-first culture and educate staff.
  • Review subcontractors’ pre-construction safety submittals and weekly docs.
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly health and safety statistics.
