EllisDon is hiring a Safety, Health and Environment Manager to lead safety programs across earthworks, underground utilities, pipeline, and heavy civil projects in Alberta. You will oversee site orientations, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions while ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety standards.

You will mentor frontline workers and supervisors to promote a zero-harm culture, conduct site audits, deliver WHMIS and Fall Protection training, and drive

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience supporting heavy civil, earthworks, underground utilities, pipeline, or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Must have or be working toward a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation, COR requirements, and civil construction safety practices.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, field-level risk assessments, and developing corrective actions.

  • Organise and deliver safety training programs, including WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, Fall Protection, Confined Space, PPE, and First Aid/CPR.
  • Support project teams in maintaining zero-harm culture through coaching, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct site audits, participate in safety meetings, and ensure all safety documentation is completed and maintained.

You as a HSE Manager:
