Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator to lead site safety programs across projects in British Columbia. You will conduct orientations, inspections, and incident reviews, ensuring compliance and driving a proactive safety culture.

The role requires coordination with subcontractors and ongoing safety training delivery. The ideal candidate holds an NCSO designation with BC OHS knowledge and Advanced First Aid certification, and has 6–10 years in construction

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–10 years’ safety construction experience.
• Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
• NCSO designation and knowledge of OHS regulations.
• Advanced First Aid certification for British Columbia.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for site specific safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/incident reports.
• Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and elevate issues to resolution.
• Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them.
• Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid.
• Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture.
• Review subcontractors’ pre-construction safety submittals.
• Review and file subcontractors’ weekly safety documentation.
• Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly project health and safety statistics.

You as a Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator will:

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 annually
