EllisDon is seeking an HSE Administrator to support day-to-day Health, Safety and Environmental programs across heavy civil projects including earthworks, underground utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure work. You will maintain safety records, coordinate training and certifications, and assist in regulatory documentation while supporting field and office teams.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably supporting health and safety, construction, or industrial operations.
  • Experience in heavy civil/construction environments is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage confidential records and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to support field and office teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day administration of Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across heavy civil construction projects, including earthworks, underground utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure work.
  • Maintain safety records and documentation, including training records, orientations, inspections, FLHAs, incident reports, and COR-related documentation.
  • Coordinate and track employee certifications, safety training, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees by preparing orientation packages and maintaining personnel records.
  • Support project teams with the collection, organization, and distribution of safety documents and reports.
  • Prepare monthly safety statistics, reports, and administrative summaries.
  • Maintain digital and hard-copy filing systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist the HSE team with audits, inspections, and regulatory documentation as required.

You as a HSE Administrator:

Is this the right role for you?
  • You have 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably supporting health and safety, construction, or industrial operations.
  • Experience working in heavy civil, earthworks, utilities, pipeline, or construction environments is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Experience maintaining confidential records and coordinating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support field and office teams.
  • Knowledge of COR requirements, Alberta OHS legislation, and construction safety documentation is considered an asset.
