Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Kingston, Ontario is seeking a Guest Attendant for a temporary drop shift. Rate of pay is $20.57 per hour (per CBA), with eligibility to work in Canada required. Grade 12 minimum education is requested.

You'll support residents with daily living activities, respond to call bells, assist with grooming and dining, transport residents as needed, and contribute to a respectful, compassionate home environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum education required.
• Safe Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Sienna Senior Living may use AI to screen applicants.

Responsibilities

• You will be compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully.
• You are detailed-oriented and have strong customer service and communication skills with residents and staff.
• You can work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• Support residents with activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and grooming as per plans.
• Answer resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provide courteous service.
• Ensure residents' grooming, dress and personal appearance are clean and appropriate.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from rooms, activities, health office and dining room as required.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support; and oral/dental care.
• Complete laundry and housekeeping duties as assigned.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed team member, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Guest Attendant, you’ll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. • Support residents with their activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and grooming as per residents individual plans of care
• Answering all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
• Ensures that residents own personal grooming is appropriate and uniform/dress is clean, tidy and according to dress code
• Assist with transporting residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required
• Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support; as well as oral and dental care
• Completing laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments

What you need to know:

• Grade 12 minimum education required
• You have ‘Safe Serve’ designation and one year experience in dining room service
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position
