Overview

Grande Yellowhead Public School Division Jaspe AB Assistant Principal — Jasper, AB. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position at École Jasper Elementary School. Duties commence at the start of the 2025/2026 school year. The competition will remain open until June 23, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional leadership to promote high quality teaching and learning.
  • Implement the Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy.
  • Provide each student with the opportunity to fulfill their potential and pursue their dreams.
  • Facilitate inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students.
  • Adhere to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures.
  • Manage school operations and finances.
  • Develop a shared responsibility between students, parents, schools and communities.
  • Model commitment to professional development.
  • Be knowledgeable in research and practices to support the professional growth and evaluation of school staff; use data-driven decision-making to develop priorities for continuous improvement.
  • Engage staff in student-focused learning as a collaborative leader.
  • Maintain positive and caring school discipline through proactive theory, research and practices.
  • Establish a student-centered timetable to optimize learning opportunities.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education.

  • Experience in implementing the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum.
  • Technology skills to work in the divisional context.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong relationship-building skills to positively promote and support students.
  • Proven track record of strong instructional practice and success across the curriculum.

A dual-track (English and French Immersion) school in Jasper National Park, Alberta. École Jasper Elementary School serves grades JK-6 within the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division.
