Kaleidoscope is a peer-led mental health nonprofit doing things a little differently. We believe that lived experience matters, that peer support works best when it’s rooted in mutuality and dignity, and that people deserve to find care that meets them where they are. This Google Ads volunteer role sits at a powerful intersection of technology, social impact, and mental health equity. The work you do directly helps people searching online—often at vulnerable moments—discover peer-led programs, community supports, and training opportunities they might not otherwise know exist. In short: your skills help people find connection. What makes this role especially cool is that it’s not about selling anything. Through Google Ads for Nonprofits, you’ll be using free advertising credits to amplify meaningful work—raising awareness for peer support groups, Mental Health First Aid trainings, and other community-based mental health initiatives across British Columbia and beyond. You’ll have creative input, with room to shape campaigns, test ideas, and see tangible results. At the same time, you won’t be working in isolation. Kaleidoscope is a collaborative organization that prioritizes psychological safety, learning, and sustainability. We’ll share context, goals, and feedback, and we’re happy to support growth—whether you’re deepening your Google Ads expertise or applying your skills in a nonprofit setting for the first time. This role is flexible, remote-friendly, and well-suited for someone who wants to use their digital marketing skills for good. If you care about mental health and community-led change—and you like the idea of turning searches into support—this is a chance to make a real difference with work you can be proud of.

This role does not include formal Google Ads training, as volunteers will need to have Google Ads Search certification and experience. You’ll receive onboarding to Kaleidoscope’s programs and Ad Grants account, with access to documentation and support from team members experienced in Google Ads when needed.

Certification or Education Required

Certification is available for free through Google Skillshop (see https://skillshop.withgoogle.com/googleads/ and select "Search")Applicants should have hands-on experience managing Google Ads Search campaigns and be familiar with Google Ad Grants policies and compliance requirements.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?

Beyond making a difference, you’ll gain hands-on experience managing Google Ads for Nonprofits, strengthen digital marketing and analytics skills, and practice translating data into real-world impact. You’ll build nonprofit advertising expertise, collaborate with a values-driven team, apply ethical outreach principles in mental health contexts, and gain portfolio-ready experience you can use in future roles.
