Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Retail Lead in Delta, BC area to oversee day-to-day operations of a department. You will guide team members, assign tasks, train staff, and ensure procedures are followed while delivering legendary customer service.

The role requires supervisory experience, open weekend availability, and a strong knowledge of outdoor lifestyle products. Starting hourly pay ranges between $20.00 and $22.75, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment.
• Open availability – store opening/closing shifts including weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to evaluate customers’ needs and make recommendations.
• Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed expectations.
• Ability to use good judgment and logic.
• Experience in outdoor lifestyle or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s products is an asset.

Summary:

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day to day operation of a retail store department.

Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager
• Delegate tasks and work assignment to team members by giving clear and concise direction, and follow up to ensure proper execution
• Foster the growth and development of team members by training various standard operating procedures and processes
• Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, following up to provide correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager
• Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department
• Provide legendary customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based off this analysis
• Promote company programs to team members and customers
• Maintain visual presentation standards including in-store signage, merchandise recovering/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming sales floor as needed
• Respond to and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope
• Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate
