Job summary

AgeCare in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents on the unit in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. You will apply AgeCare policies and contribute to high-quality resident care.

You will direct Personal Support Workers, liaise with physicians and the health care team, participate in shift reports, and help maintain a compassionate, inclusive and supportive living environment with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and current good standing.
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care Act and related standards.
• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RN to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaise with physicians and health care team on resident care.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift reports to inform team of resident status changes.
• Notify the physician of significant changes in resident status when RN is absent.
