Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to deliver professional nursing care to residents in long-term care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will provide direction to Personal Support Workers and collaborate with physicians and the health care team to meet residents' needs.

Applicants must have geriatric/long-term care nursing experience and a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Qualifications

• Geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing experience.
• Familiarity with health acts and safety regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Implement unit policies and procedures with the Registered Nurse.
• Liaise with physicians and health care partners; notify physician of resident status changes.
• Work with the health care team to meet residents' care needs.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift reports to inform the team of resident status changes.
