AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents under required medical care and nursing practice. You will supervise Personal Support Workers as defined by regulatory standards and work with unregulated health care staff where applicable.

Qualifications

• A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
• Knowledge of Ontario nursing standards and applicable acts and regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and a member in good standing.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, implements AgeCare policies and procedures on the unit.
• Provides input into the revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.
• Liaises with physicians and other health care team members including external partners.
• If RN absent, notifies physician of significant changes in resident status.
• Works with health care team to meet residents' care needs.
• Directs Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participates in shift reports ensuring all team members are informed of changes.
