Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide professional geriatric nursing care and support to the care team in Oshawa, Ontario. You will collaborate with the Registered Nurse to implement policies, liaise with physicians, and guide Personal Support Workers on unit care.

Qualifications

• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Familiarity with relevant health acts and regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RN to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Liaise with physicians and other health care team members.
• Notify physician of significant changes in resident status in RN’s absence.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on care procedures.
• Participate in shift reports to keep team informed of resident status changes.
