Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to collaborate with the Director of Care in delivering safe, ethical resident care across a geriatric/long-term care setting. The RN will promote teamwork, safety, and adherence to applicable acts and standards, supporting a culture of respect and quality.

The role emphasizes coordinating services, leading shift reports, documenting changes, and ensuring timely execution of physician orders, with a focus on resident safety and rights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Registration in good standing with provincial nursing registry.
• Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.
• Lead shift report with health care team and inform changes in residents' status.
• Record significant changes and ensure documentation adheres to policies and standards.
• Review and process physician orders and implement promptly.
• Communicate difficulties in processing orders to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.
