Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Hamilton is seeking a motivated Non-Ferrous Receiver to join our team. Under the Site Manager, you will handle the reception and initial processing of non-ferrous metals, maintain the workspace, and support recycling operations.

This role requires comfort in a loud, dusty industrial environment, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a willingness to learn; we offer a competitive starting wage of 25.75 CAD per hour, vacation, benefits, RRSP matching, and tuition

Qualifications

• You are comfortable working in a loud, dusty, heavy industrial environment.
• You are comfortable performing repetitive lifting up to 50lbs.
• You have the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• You have a willingness to learn and perform various tasks.
• You have clear communication skills and are comfortable working with members of the public.
• You have previous experience in an industrial, warehouse, or recycling environment.

Responsibilities

• Sorting and segregating different types of ferrous and non ferrous materials.
• Operating machinery and equipment used in the recycling process.
• Inspecting, loading, and unloading of customer vehicles and trucks.
• Performing depollution of vehicles including removing oils, gas, coolant, etc
• Conducting basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
• Following safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment.
