Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is hiring a General Labourer (Non Ferrous) for our Ajax location. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the general maintenance of the premises and for receiving, sorting and weighing ferrous metals using the RECY system to track materials.

We offer a competitive hourly wage starting at CAD25.75/hr with overtime after 44 hours, plus an annual tuition scholarship program up to CAD8,500 per eligible dependents, full-time permanent

Qualifications

• Good computer skills required.
• Experience in operating a crane.
• Experience in metal recycling is an asset.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Good physical fitness.
• Ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort and organize different types of ferrous metals.
• Cover the scale and weigh in trucks when required using the RECY system to properly weigh and track the material.
• Do general maintenance of the premises.
• Ensure the equipment in good condition.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients on site.
• Operate the forklift as required.
• Work with a safety oriented mindset.
