Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is a family-owned global leader in metal recycling, with 125+ sites and 4,000 employees. We are hiring a Ferrous Receiver for our Burlington location. You will receive, sort, and weigh ferrous metals, maintain premises, and provide on-site customer service in a safety-focused environment.

We offer CAD25.75/hour to start, overtime after 44 hours, tuition scholarship up to $8,500 per eligible dependents, RRSP matching, and a comprehensive benefits package with vacation.

Qualifications

• Good computer skills
• Experience operating a crane
• Experience in metal recycling is a plus
• Can work indoors and outdoors in all weather
• Strong physical fitness

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort and organize different types of ferrous metals
• Cover the scale and weigh in trucks when required using the RECY system to properly weigh and track the material
• Perform general maintenance of the premises
• Ensure equipment is in good condition
• Provide excellent on-site customer service
• Operate the forklift as required

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Ferrous Receiver with experience for our Burlington location.Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the general maintenance of the premises.

• Receive, sort and organize different types of ferrous metals
• Cover the scale and weigh in trucks when required using the RECY system to properly weigh and track the material
• Do general maintenance of the premises
• Ensure the equipment in good condition
• Provide excellent customer service to clients on site
• Operate the Fork liftas required
• Work with a safety oriented mindset

Qualifications

• Good Computer Skills
• Experience in operating a crane
• Experience in metal recycling considered an asset
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good physical fitness
• Ability to work as a team
