Job summary

American Iron and Metal (AIM) is seeking a General Labourer for our Québec site to support daily operations by receiving, sorting and classifying metals, and assisting in processing and proper handling. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will work indoors and outdoors, using equipment including forklifts, and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment.

Permanent, full-time position with schedule Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and Saturday 8am–12pm; group insurance and RRSP with employer

Qualifications

• Experience with manual, physically demanding work.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
• Responsible, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.
• Experience in an industrial environment is an asset.
• Experience operating a forklift or other equipment is an asset.
• Knowledge of metal recycling and different types of metals is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, sort and classify different types of metals.
• Identify materials and direct them to the appropriate areas based on type and quality.
• Participate in processing and preparation of metals.
• Welcome customers and assist them when materials are received.
• Weigh materials and enter data into RECY software.
• Operate various equipment, including forklifts, as required for operations.
• Perform daily opening and closing activities.
• Keep the work area clean and safe and perform other related duties.
