Job summary

John Ross & Sons Ltd. is a fifth-generation, family-owned international metal recycling company based in Atlantic Canada. We are seeking a full-time labourer to load, unload and move materials, assist production staff, and ensure accurate labeling during day shifts.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, following safety procedures, and reporting any deficiencies to management. Candidates should be able to work in all weather conditions and wear full PPE on shift.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy lifting or general labour.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Willingness to wear PPE on shift.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork.

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment.
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage.
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• Uphold safety procedures.
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management.
• Other labor duties as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Upkeeping safety procedures
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management
• Other labor duties as necessary

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience of heavy lifting general labour an asset
• Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently
• Must be comfortable wearing full PPE while on shift
• Safety driven mindset
• Clear communication skills
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturdays as needed
