Job summary

Bill Stewart's Scrap Metal & Enviro Depot in New Glasgow is seeking an energetic general labourer to join the team. The role involves loading, unloading, sorting, labeling, and preparing materials for shipping, with emphasis on safety and efficiency, in a full-time capacity based in Nova Scotia.

You will work Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturdays as needed, wearing full PPE and maintaining a clean, safe work area while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting experience is asset; ability to handle physical work safely.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently.
• Must be comfortable wearing full PPE while on shift.
• Safety driven mindset and attention to procedures.
• Clear communication skills are required.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment.
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage.
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• Upholding safety procedures.
• Note and report any deficiencies to management.
• Other labor duties as necessary

We are currently seeking an energetic and safety minded general laborer to join our team based in New Glasgow.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Upkeeping safety procedures
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management
• Other labor duties as necessary
