AC Hotel Marriott Montreal Downtown in Montreal, QC, seeks a friendly front desk associate/night auditor to welcome guests, process reservations, and ensure accurate billing with a focus on service excellence.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, handling check-ins/outs, answering inquiries, and maintaining a professional appearance while working a flexible schedule including weekends and nights.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will be at the heart of the guest experience, and your main responsibilities will include:

Welcoming and Assisting Our Guests:

  • Greet guests warmly, anticipate their needs, and thank them sincerely;

  • Handle guest arrivals and departures with professionalism and courtesy;

  • Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations;

  • Respond to guest requests, take messages, and ensure necessary follow-ups;

  • Provide clear information about rooms, facilities, services, and hotel operating hours;

  • Inform guests about the city and suggest activities and points of interest;

  • Assist guests with their luggage, as needed;

  • Activate, organize, and manage room keys.

Ensuring Rigorous Financial Operations:

  • Secure payment methods, verify billing, and make necessary adjustments;

  • Count and secure the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift;

  • Complete cash reports and closing procedures in the computer system;

  • Process various types of payments, adjustment vouchers, deposits, corrections, and miscellaneous charges;

  • Provide change to guests upon request;

  • Produce and review daily reports and logs.

Maintaining Professional and Personalized Service:

  • Listen to guest comments and concerns, then intervene to resolve issues effectively;

  • Ensure that requests or issues left pending from the previous day are addressed as a priority;

  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously, both in person and on the phone;

  • Answer the phone following appropriate telephone etiquette standards;

  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and wear the uniform in accordance with company standards.

Contributing to Hotel Safety and Smooth Operations:

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with various departments;

  • Support team members in achieving common goals;

  • Inform management of any theft reported by a guest;

  • Print contingency lists to maintain an up-to-date guest registry in case of emergency;

  • Report any accident, injury, or unsafe working condition to the supervisor on duty;

  • Comply with company policies and procedures;

  • Protect company assets and ensure the confidentiality of private information;

  • Perform any other related tasks as required by operational needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Excellent command of French and English, both written and verbal, due to our international clientele;

  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar environment, an asset;

  • A positive attitude, empathetic listening, and a guest satisfaction-focused approach;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to communicate professionally;

  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail;

  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently;

  • High availability, including Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and night shifts;

  • Availability to perform night auditor replacements as needed; additional training will be provided;

  • Ability to stand for the majority of the shift;

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 15 pounds without assistance.
