Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Forestry Intern for an on-site internship in Miramichi, New Brunswick. You will work alongside seasoned forestry professionals, gaining practical skills in planning, fieldwork, safety, and responsible forest management throughout the internship.

The role begins in May for a 4 to 8 month term, with hands-on opportunities to explore worksites, use GPS and mapping software, and contribute to safe, efficient operations while building experience for your future career.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Forestry-related post-secondary degree or diploma program such as Forestry, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences and/or Conservation.
• Basic understanding of safety rules and regulations.
• Physically fit and able to work in challenging weather and terrain.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Get hands-on exposure to forestry operations and sustainable forest management.
• Explore active worksites and learn planning, harvesting, and regeneration processes.
• Use GPS and mapping software for field data collection and planning.
• Support projects that promote safe, efficient, and responsible operations.
