  • Evaluate daily operations
  • Plan and organize daily operations
  • Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques
  • Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work
  • Plan and manage the establishment of departmental budget
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Train technicians, assistants, students or interns
  • Supervise staff
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
  • Provide staff training
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
