Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canada is seeking an Inspector to conduct routine inspections, testing and maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines and related equipment. The role emphasizes precise workmanship and adherence to safety standards in a dynamic field service environment.

Successful candidates will have a High School Diploma, a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to pass criminal background and clean driving record.
• 2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems; Fire and/or Life Safety Systems experience preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
• Proficiency with MS Excel/Word; PC usage.
• Capable of performing physical labour up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler or suppression life safety product lines during routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Perform testing and service with quality workmanship.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and document results.
• Make repairs with minimal supervision and provide technical training to others.
• Complete inspections on time and perform additional duties as assigned.
