Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canada is hiring a sprinkler service technician in a bargaining union position. You will receive service requests, inspect and maintain sprinkler systems at client sites, and diagnose issues by reading blueprints and submittals.

Qualifications

• Sprinkler Journeyperson qualification is required.
• ASTTBC certification in WA is required.
• BACKFLOW certification is required.
• 4+ years of experience in Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding and high lift positions.
• Flexible hours, weekends, and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and document issues.
• Inspect, test, and maintain sprinkler systems to codes and standards.
• Contact customer representatives to confirm problems.
• Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial/industrial/residential sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and consult manuals and notices.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with district staff.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and signatures.
• Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
