The BRIDGE and the Finance & Data Lab:

The BRIDGE is a joint venture between UTSC’s Department of Management and the UTSC Library, focusing on entrepreneurship, research, and innovation. The state-of-the-art facilities include a business research library, finance and data lab, and collaboration spaces. The Finance & Data Lab features advanced technology and software such as Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg terminals, and data analytics tools including R, SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI.


Your opportunity:

As a key member of The BRIDGE team, the Finance & Data Lab Resource Developer will prepare students for careers in finance-related fields, support experiential learning initiatives, and collaborate with faculty and industry partners. Responsibilities include designing and delivering curriculum on financial research tools and data analytics, mentoring students, and supporting research activities.


Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement instructional programs, including curricular and co-curricular activities.
  2. Create instructional design plans utilizing educational technologies.
  3. Analyze and evaluate program effectiveness.
  4. Develop content for workshops and seminars.
  5. Research and recommend educational technologies and best practices.
  6. Conduct financial research and market data analysis.
  7. Promote programs and events to targeted audiences.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience, preferably in academia or finance.
  • Proficiency with financial research tools (FactSet, Bloomberg, CapIQ), data analytics (R, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau), and Excel VBA.
  • Experience in financial research, modeling, and market analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of capital markets, portfolio management, and market microstructure.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Assets (nonessential):

Progress towards CFA designation.
