Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking a Crushing Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain crushing and screening equipment at customer sites across the region.

You will work in a demanding field environment, focusing on safety and quality, with opportunities to learn and grow within our training programs and team-based support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Heavy Equipment Technician or Millwright.
• At least 3 years on crushing and screening equipment.
• Strong hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Experience with mobile crushing plants (jaw/cone/screeners).
• Valid AZ/DZ licence preferred.
• Lockout/Tagout, working at heights, and confined-space procedures are assets.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair crushing and screening equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and component replacements.
• Commission new equipment and support customer startups.
• Complete detailed service reports and documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure all work follows Toromont safety standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with branches to align on all service activities and customer communication.

Job description

Toromont Cat is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Crushing Field Service Technician to join our growing Crushing team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining crushing and screening equipment at customer sites across the region. This position requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in demanding field environments.

Compensation

$48.72 to $51.55

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on crushing and screening equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and component replacements (e.g., liners, bearings, conveyors)
• Commission new equipment and support customer startups
• Complete detailed service reports, time entries, and documentation in a timely manner Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and branch teams
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Toromont safety standards and procedures
• Collaborate with branches to ensure alignment on all service activities and customer communication

Must-haves for this role:

• Diploma or certification in Heavy Equipment Technician or certified Millwright
• Minimum 3 years of experience working on crushing and screening equipment
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
• Experience with mobile crushing plants (jaw, cone, and screeners)
• A valid Driver’s Licence (AZ/DZ Licence preferred)
• Experience with lockout/tagout, working at heights, and confined space procedures is an asset
