Job description

We’re looking for a Field Claims Adjuster to join our growing team!

As a member of the Field Claims team, you’ll be at the heart of what we do best: helping people. You’ll work alongside a passionate and diverse team of claims adjusters who are experts in helping customers recover after a loss.

Your empathy and skills will be a great addition to our team, and we’ll provide you with exciting opportunities to investigate and manage complex claims for both personal and commercial lines. We offer over 75 different positions within Claims, providing numerous opportunities to grow your career in meaningful ways.

Travel requirements:

This role involves responding to claims in various regions. We are particularly interested in candidates in the following areas: Montréal, Outaouais, Montérégie, Saguenay, Chaudières-Appalaches, Estrie, Drummondville, and Val-d'Or.

What you’ll do here:

  • Utilize your technical expertise to handle each unique situation.
  • Assess and analyze policy wordings and damages to determine coverage.
  • Evaluate potential liabilities through consultations with experts.
  • Negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims within your authority.
  • Participate in claims catastrophes (CATs) and support overflow work when needed.
  • Collaborate with teams such as appraisal, underwriting, and legal.
  • Manage costs efficiently and effectively.
  • Stay informed about insurance products, appraisal, investigation techniques, and services.

What you bring to the table:

  • A 5A Claims Adjuster Certificate.
  • At least two years of experience as a property adjuster.
  • A college diploma or equivalent work experience (asset).
  • Working knowledge of the law.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Availability to travel on short notice.
