Family Book Club Co‑Facilitator - Online Program

1 hour/ weekly

January 22, 2026 - March 27, 2026

We're seeking a co‑facilitator to support our staff in our online Family Book Club! Our family literacy programs use stories, games, and songs to develop early literacy skills. Join us on Thursday evenings from 5:15 to 6:15 PM. This program will run for 10 weeks from January 22nd until March 26th. What's special about this program? This Family Book Club is all about science! This session, we're pairing science about Winter with science in the kitchen for a fun, interactive program. Families also receive a literacy kit with instructions to do different experiments each week at home. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to dip their toes into literacy programming. As a co‑facilitator, you would primarily be responsible for backend tasks to make sure the program runs smoothly: taking attendance, re‑naming participants, and monitoring the chat. We also encourage you to present a song or story yourself! We provide 30‑minutes of hands‑on training to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as you begin in this role. Interested in learning more? Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer_coordinator@famlit.ca.*Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?

Volunteers in our family literacy programs learn about early language and literacy development, and how to engage families in learning together. We offer professional development and appreciation opportunities throughout the year.
