Job summary

Fine Lines Granite & Quartz Ltd in Edmonton is seeking a stone fabrication worker to construct models and moulds and to operate fabrication equipment according to blueprints and safety standards.

You will set up and run machinery, inspect finished products, and move materials around the site using appropriate lifting equipment. A background of 1–2 years is preferred, and this is an on-site position with no remote option.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • On-site work with no remote option.

Responsibilities

  • Construct clay models and moulds for use in casting concrete products.
  • Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced.
  • Set up, adjust and operate single-function machines to mix, drill, grind and cut concrete to specifications.
  • Check products for quality control.
  • Move products using forklift, crane or hydraulic hoist.
  • Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish.
  • Read blueprint, schemas and drawings.
  • Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications.
  • Operate vibrating tables to settle concrete.
  • Cut cured concrete pipe sections with saw or chisel and cement sections together to form odd-shaped fittings.
