Job summary

AVL Construction Group Inc. is seeking a skilled concrete worker for on-site duties at our Drummond Parish location. You will perform finishing, leveling and curing tasks, and may lead apprentices under supervision.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of concrete experience, strong communication, and the ability to work at heights in outdoor conditions. This is a physically demanding on-site role with touring work in rural and industrial settings.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
• On site work with no remote option.
• Able to work at heights and in cold/hot outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Instruct apprentices
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
