Job summary

Specsavers Markham is recruiting a part-time Retail Associate (Eyecare Consultant) to welcome customers and guide them through frame collections while assisting first-time contact lens shoppers. Full training is provided, no optical experience required, and you’ll represent Specsavers with pride.

You’ll work evenings and weekends in a fast-paced store, delivering exceptional customer service, helping customers choose frames, explaining offers, and coordinating follow-up visits to ensure

• Availability to work evenings and weekends is required for this role.

• Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, staying organized under pressure.
• Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours.
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor with ability to provide knowledgeable product recommendations.
• Long-term customer relationship mindset, aligned with Specsavers’ Customer Experience model.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset but not essential.
• Enthusiasm for learning about frames, lenses, and pre-testing procedures.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; immigration or PR support not provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly, creating a friendly in-store environment.
• Build connections by understanding customers’ needs and recommending eyecare solutions.
• Guide customers in selecting frames that suit lenses and personal style.
• Explain offers, products and services clearly to aid informed choices.
• Perform pre-screening tests such as retinal imaging, pressure checks, and visual field testing (full training provided).
• Measure and adjust frames for a comfortable fit.
• Process orders for prescription glasses and contact lenses accurately.
• Schedule follow-up appointments to maintain excellent customer care.
• Act as an ambassador for Specsavers and our behaviours and values.
