Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event Service Captain to lead on-site catering teams for Kimberley events. You will be the primary client contact during service, directing staff, coordinating with kitchen, and ensuring flawless execution and guest satisfaction.

This on-site role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure across evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience as Event Captain or Banquet Captain or a similar leadership role in catering or hospitality.
• Strong understanding of banquet and event service procedures and etiquette.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required for events.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate event service staff during all phases of catering service, from setup to breakdown.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients during events, addressing needs and ensuring satisfaction with the catering service.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages according to event specifications.
• Manage on-site logistics, including table settings, service flow, and guest experience enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any service-related issues promptly to minimize disruption.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, service standards, and health and safety regulations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Event Service Captain to lead and manage on-site catering service teams during events in Kimberley . This role is critical for ensuring flawless execution of service, client satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. You will be the primary point of contact for event clients during service, responsible for team performance, troubleshooting, and ensuring a seamless dining experience. This on-site position requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding event environment within the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities
