Blue Door in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a Housing Navigator to oversee the daily operation of an emergency housing program, reporting to the Program Manager and maintaining housing plans, intake/discharge documentation, and client safety.

The role supports referrals, coordinates with staff, and participates in housekeeping duties while upholding harm-reduction and anti-oppression standards. Weekend/evening shifts are required.

Formación

• Minimum SSW or 2-year college diploma in a human services program.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding and delivery of anti-oppressive practices.
• Experience with harm reduction practices.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• CPI, CPR and Vulnerable Screening Clearance (Police Check).
• Reliable vehicle, valid driving license and insurance.

Responsabilidades

• Provides excellent customer service including answering calls, greeting visitors and partners.
• Maintains housing-focused interventions addressing clients' emotional/behavioural needs.
• Keeps routines and safety measures with room checks and sanitation.
• Helps clients establish and achieve individualized housing goals daily.
• Maintains daily HIFIS entries and client documentation.
• Produces weekly housing listings and coordinates landlord contacts.
• Works with clients to navigate steps toward financial security and housing.
• Performs housekeeping duties including food preparation and cleaning.
