Job summary

Lookout Housing and Health Society seeks an Outreach Worker in Duncan, BC to provide housing support, advocacy and services for adults with complex needs. The role involves crisis intervention, linkages to resources, and coordination of care under COR standards.

Responsibilities include assisting clients with stable living, budgeting, and partnership with teams to meet health and housing goals. Must have OFA1 and a Class 5 license; evening/overnight shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Related Diploma or Certificate; or minimum Grade 12 education plus two years of related experience.
• Familiarity with community resources, addiction, mental health, welfare, and harm reduction.
• Must have current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate and a Class 5 Driver's Licence and Driver's Abstract.
• Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and manage stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance, support and skills training to adults to establish stable living situations.
• Secure and maintain stable, independent living arrangements where possible.
• Discuss, assess problems and develop flexible action plans.
• Ensure basic needs by networking clients with services and providing crisis intervention.
• Administer finances and medications or arrange coverage as needed.
• Complete required records and maintain statistical data.
• Aid in training and upgrading placement programs for staff and volunteers.
• Occasionally drive the company vehicle.
• Maintain alertness during shifts; no sleeping on duty.
• Comply with health and safety programs.
